The Last Station nominated for two Oscars®

We would like to congratulate Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer on their respective Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor for their roles in our film The Last Station. We are very proud of their achievements and are delighted that they have received the recognition they, and Michael Hoffman’s film, so richly deserve.
These nominations follow similar ones for the pair at last months Golden Globe and SAG Awards.

The Last Station premieres in UK & Germany
27th January 2010
The UK Premiere of The Last Station took place at the Curzon Mayfair in London last night, with director Michael Hoffman, stars Helen Mirren, James McAvoy, Anne-Marie Duff, John Sessions and Patrick Kennedy all in attendance. They were also joined by author Jay Parini, composer Sergey Yevtushenko and producers Chris Curling, Jens Meurer, Bonnie Arnold and Phil Robertson.
The German Premiere takes place in Berlin this evening with the stars and filmmakers again in attendance.
The Last Station goes on release in Germany on January 29th, followed by the UK release on February 19th.

The Last Station nominated for five Independent Spirit Awards

Michael Hoffman’s Tolstoy drama leads the way at the 25th Independent Spirit Awards with five nominations in the Best Feature, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Female Lead and Best Supporting Male categories. The Last Station showing at AFI FEST, Los Angeles

Our critically acclaimed film is part of the official selection for the 23rd AFI Fest in Los Angeles. The Festival has also selected Christopher Plummer to receive a special tribute at this year’s event, which will be held prior to our screening on November 3rd at the Mann Chinese Theater.

Helen Mirren receives Best Actress Award at Rome Film Festival

Helen Mirren has been awarded the Silver Marc’Aurelio Jury Award for Best Actress for her role in The Last Station at the 4th Annual International Rome Film Festival. An international jury composed of personalities from the world of cinema and art judged the films in competition from the Official Selection and selected Helen for this prestigious prize. The Last Station received a wonderful reception in Rome following its European Premiere on October 18th and several other packed out screenings.
